Here’s a handy list of diet-related abbreviations you might come across during your New You journey. Keep this guide as a quick reference to help you feel informed and confident every step of the way.

New You Plan – The weight loss programme we are all following!
TFR – Total Food Replacement
VLCD – Very Low Calorie Diet
RDA – Recommended Daily Allowance
BMI – Body Mass Index
lbs – Pounds (weight measurement)
💛 Plan Terms
Total – The 100 percent commitment Total Food Replacement plan, designed to break habits and deliver fast results
5:2 – A flexible plan where you follow TFR for 2 days and eat healthy meals for 5 days
Switch Boost – A day under 800 calories using New You products or conventional low calorie foods
Switch Nourish – A structured plan over 800 calories with flexibility to include conventional foods while staying on track
🔥 Ketosis & Fat Burning
Ketosis – When your body switches to burning fat for fuel, often leading to fast weight loss and more energy
Mr K / Keto Fairy – The magical moment when you enter ketosis (usually around 3 days after starting the plan)
Ketosis Breath – A potential side effect of ketosis, often described as a metallic or fruity taste in the mouth
