š¶ Important Guidance: Why a VLCD Is Not Suitable During Pregnancy
First of all,Ā congratulations if you are pregnant! šš
This is such a special time, and we are truly excited for you.
At The New You Plan, your health and safety are always our top priority. While our plan is a fantastic way to achieve weight loss goals, it is not suitable during pregnancy. Hereās why:
š« Vitamin A and Pregnancy
Our products are carefully formulated to meet the nutritional needs of people on a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD). This includes higher levels of Vitamin A.
While Vitamin A is essential for many functions in the body, too much Vitamin A during pregnancy can be harmful. High levels have been linked to risks of birth defects, especially during early pregnancy.
ā For this reason, our products are not safe for use during pregnancy.
āļø Your Nutritional Needs Change During Pregnancy
When you are expecting, your body needs extra energy, calories and nutrients to support your babyās healthy development.
A VLCD is not designed to meet these increased needs and should not be followed while pregnant.
ā It is important to follow a pregnancy-safe, balanced diet, with guidance from your midwife or healthcare provider.
š©āāļø What to Do If You Become Pregnant While on Plan
If you discover that you are pregnant during your New You journey:
- Stop the plan immediately
- Speak with your GP or midwife for support on a healthy pregnancy diet
