🍷 Can I Drink Alcohol on the Total Plan?
Our Recommendation
We strongly discourage the consumption of alcohol while following the Total Food Replacement (TFR) Plan. This is not just about staying on track with your weight loss goals — it is also about protecting your health and wellbeing.
Here is why we advise against drinking alcohol during the plan:
🚫 Why Alcohol Is Not Recommended
1. Decreased Alcohol Tolerance
With a significantly reduced calorie intake, your body becomes more sensitive to alcohol. This means the effects of alcohol may feel stronger and happen more quickly than usual, which can make social occasions more difficult to manage.
2. Increased Hangover Severity
You may find that hangovers are more intense and take longer to recover from. This can impact your energy, motivation, and overall wellbeing.
3. Poor Food Choices
Alcohol often leads to reduced willpower and impulsive eating. This can result in straying from the plan and making choices that delay your progress.
🍸 If You Choose to Drink Alcohol
If you do decide to consume alcohol, we recommend the following:
- Increase your daily calorie intake to at least 1,000 calories
- Do this for at least one week before your planned event
- You can increase your intake by adding extra New You products, snacks, or by following the Switch Plan which includes conventional foods
This approach helps to reduce the impact of alcohol on your body and ensures you are better prepared to handle it safely.
⭐ For Best Results
To achieve the best possible results on your New You journey, we recommend avoiding alcohol entirely throughout your time on the Total Plan. Staying focused and committed will help you:
- Maximise fat loss
- Maintain energy and motivation
- Feel your best, both physically and mentally
